Annual General Meeting and election of a new Board of Directors. New president of ITEP, Ms. Christina Tetradi
The Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasts (ITEP) has elected a new Board of Directors during its Annual General Assembly held on February 13, marking a new leadership chapter for one of Greece’s key tourism research bodies.
Christina Tetradi was elected President of the non-profit institute, an initiative of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels. Other board members include:
1st Vice President
Ioannis Anglos
2nd Vice President
Georgios Zafeiris
Secretary General
Sakellarios Soulounias
Treasurer
Charalambos Voulgaris
Members: Apostolos Doxiadis and Gerasimos Zacharatos
Alternate members: Konstantinos Leventis, Konstantinos Merianos, Olga Papadaki and Kiriakos Tsigros.
Assuming the presidency, Tetradi highlighted ITEP’s institutional responsibility at a time of rapid transformation in global tourism.
“ITEP is called upon to further strengthen its role as a central body for producing documented knowledge and primary data,” she said, underlining the institute’s importance as a reliable partner for the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the state and the broader tourism market.
Founded in 1996, ITEP monitors key performance indicators of the Greek hospitality industry through its annual reports and seasonal surveys. Its activities include tourism research, studies for third parties, consulting services to industry bodies, organization of conferences for data exchange, and the provision of statistical information to researchers and students.
Tetradi noted that the new board will build on the strategic direction shaped by outgoing President Konstantina Svinou, while reinforcing the institute’s outward-looking orientation.
“In a highly competitive international environment, our priority is to enhance extroversion, develop strong partnerships and fully leverage the institute’s scientific expertise,” she said, adding that the goal is to create “an even more modern, strong and substantively useful institute for the future of Greek hospitality”.
According to Tetradi, as Greek tourism continues to evolve, ITEP’s research and data-driven analysis are expected to play a growing role in supporting evidence-based decision-making across the sector.
ITEP’s General Director is George Petrakos, Professor of Quantitative Methods and Information Systems at Panteion University’s Department of Public Administration.
